1. Definitions

For the purposes of this License:

"Software" means the Light Kali project and all source code, object code, assets, configuration files, documentation, scripts, libraries, modules, interfaces, and other materials distributed by the Copyright Holder under this License.

"Core" means the original and official source code and components that constitute the primary Light Kali system, platform, runtime, framework, operating environment, or other components designated by the Copyright Holder as part of the Light Kali Core.

"Package" means an independently developed software package, module, library, plugin, extension, application, theme, integration, or other add-on designed to operate with or extend Light Kali through officially supported interfaces or APIs.

"Modified Version" means any version of the Software in which the original Core source code, structure, functionality, files, or components have been altered, replaced, patched, removed, rewritten, or otherwise modified.

"Copyright Holder" means the owner or authorized maintainer of the Light Kali project and its associated intellectual property.

2. Grant of Rights

Subject to the terms and conditions of this License, the Copyright Holder grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

1. Use the unmodified Software.

2. Run the Software for personal, educational, research, development, internal, or commercial purposes.

3. Create independent Packages, Plugins, Extensions, Themes, Integrations, and other add-ons for Light Kali.

4. Distribute independently developed Packages and Extensions that comply with this License.

5. Use officially documented APIs, interfaces, hooks, package systems, and extension mechanisms provided by Light Kali.

6. Integrate independently developed Packages with an unmodified copy of Light Kali.

This License does not transfer ownership of the Software or any intellectual property rights to you.

3. Core Integrity

The Light Kali Core must remain unmodified.

You may not, without explicit written permission from the Copyright Holder:

1. Modify the Core source code.

2. Replace, remove, rewrite, patch, or alter Core files.

3. Create or distribute a Modified Version of Light Kali.

4. Publish a fork, derivative distribution, or substantially modified edition of Light Kali.

5. Redistribute a modified copy of the Light Kali Core.

6. Circumvent the official Package, Plugin, or Extension architecture in order to modify the Core.

7. Incorporate substantial portions of the Core into another project.

8. Present a Modified Version as an official release of Light Kali.

The prohibition on modification applies whether the modification is made directly, indirectly, manually, automatically, at build time, at runtime, or through another software system.

4. Packages, Plugins, and Extensions

Independent Packages, Plugins, Extensions, Themes, and Integrations are expressly permitted.

A Package may:

Add new functionality.

Provide additional tools or commands.

Add user interfaces or themes.

Integrate external services.

Extend officially supported APIs.

Depend upon Light Kali.

Be distributed independently of the Light Kali Core.

Be distributed commercially, provided that all applicable rights and third-party licenses are respected.

A Package must remain an independent work and must not contain, redistribute, reproduce, or replace substantial portions of the Light Kali Core unless explicit written permission has been granted by the Copyright Holder.

Packages must not claim to be an official part of Light Kali unless they have been explicitly approved and designated as official by the Copyright Holder.

5. No Forks of the Core

Forking the Light Kali Core is prohibited under this License.

You may create independent applications, Packages, Plugins, Extensions, and integrations that work with Light Kali, but you may not create, publish, distribute, or maintain a competing or derivative version of the Light Kali Core without prior written authorization.

A modified repository, modified distribution, or derivative implementation substantially based on the Light Kali Core is considered a prohibited fork under this License.

6. Distribution of the Original Software

You may distribute an unchanged and complete copy of the Software only when:

1. The Software remains unmodified.

2. This License is included with the distribution.

3. All copyright notices remain intact.

4. All trademark notices remain intact.

5. You do not represent the distribution as an official release unless authorized.

6. You do not imply endorsement by the Copyright Holder.

No permission is granted to distribute a Modified Version of the Core.

7. Copyright and Attribution

All copyright notices, license notices, attribution statements, and ownership notices contained in the Software must remain intact.

Use of the Software does not grant you any ownership interest in the Light Kali name, source code, branding, artwork, trademarks, logos, or other intellectual property.

8. Trademark and Branding

"Light Kali", "LiGHTKALi", associated logos, names, symbols, branding, and related marks are not licensed under this License except as strictly necessary to identify compatibility with the Software.

You may state that a Package is: "Compatible with Light Kali" or "Built for Light Kali", provided that such statement is truthful and does not imply official endorsement, sponsorship, partnership, or ownership.

You may not use the Light Kali name, logo, or branding in a manner that suggests that a modified, unofficial, or independently developed product is an official Light Kali release.

9. Independent Works

This License does not claim ownership of independently written software that merely communicates with, interoperates with, or is designed to work alongside Light Kali.

Independently developed Packages remain the property of their respective authors, subject to any third-party rights and the restrictions of this License concerning the Light Kali Core.

Nothing in this License grants permission to copy or redistribute copyrighted portions of the Light Kali Core merely because they are required for compatibility.

10. No Circumvention

You may not intentionally circumvent, disable, bypass, or defeat technical, architectural, contractual, or licensing mechanisms implemented by Light Kali for the purpose of enforcing the restrictions of this License.

This clause applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

11. Reverse Engineering

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to reconstruct the Light Kali Core for the purpose of creating a competing, modified, or derivative implementation, except to the extent that such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

Nothing in this section is intended to restrict rights that cannot lawfully be restricted.

12. Third-Party Components

Light Kali may contain or depend upon software distributed under separate third-party licenses.

Those components remain subject to their respective licenses.

Nothing in this License overrides or restricts rights that are independently granted by a third-party license.

In the event of a conflict between this License and a mandatory third-party license applicable to a specific component, the applicable third-party license controls only with respect to that component.

13. Commercial Use

Commercial use of the unmodified Light Kali Software is permitted under this License.

Commercial distribution of independently developed Packages, Plugins, Extensions, Themes, and Integrations is also permitted, subject to:

1. Compliance with this License.

2. Compliance with all applicable third-party licenses.

3. Preservation of required attribution.

4. No unauthorized modification or redistribution of the Light Kali Core.

5. No false representation of official affiliation with Light Kali.

The Copyright Holder may establish separate commercial licensing terms for activities not permitted by this License.

14. Contributions

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, submitting code, documentation, fixes, Packages, or other material to the Light Kali project does not alter the terms of this License.

Contributions submitted directly to the official Light Kali Core repository may be subject to additional contribution terms established by the Copyright Holder.

15. Reservation of Rights

All rights not expressly granted by this License are reserved by the Copyright Holder.

No implied license is granted by publication, distribution, repository access, communication, interoperability, or possession of the Software.

16. Termination

Your rights under this License automatically terminate if you materially violate any provision of this License.

Upon termination, you must cease the activities that are no longer authorized under this License and, where legally required, remove unauthorized distributions of the Software or Core.

Rights granted to you in independently developed works remain unaffected except to the extent that those works contain unauthorized portions of the Light Kali Core or otherwise violate applicable law.

The Copyright Holder may, at its sole discretion, restore or reinstate permission following a violation.

17. Disclaimer of Warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, SECURITY, RELIABILITY, OR AVAILABILITY.

YOU ASSUME ALL RISK ARISING FROM THE USE, DISTRIBUTION, DEPLOYMENT, OR MODIFICATION OF SOFTWARE USED IN CONNECTION WITH LIGHT KALI.

18. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER AND CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR OTHER DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SOFTWARE, ITS USE, INABILITY TO USE, DISTRIBUTION, DEPENDENCIES, PACKAGES, EXTENSIONS, OR RELATED SERVICES.

19. No Endorsement

Distribution of a Package, Plugin, Extension, Theme, Integration, or other independent work does not imply endorsement, certification, sponsorship, or affiliation with Light Kali.

Official status may only be granted by the Copyright Holder.

20. Changes to This License

The Copyright Holder may publish new versions of the Light Kali Restricted Use License.

Each version will be separately identified.

Software released under a specific version of this License remains governed by that version unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.

21. Governing Law

This License shall be interpreted and enforced according to the laws applicable to the Copyright Holder and the jurisdiction designated by the Copyright Holder, subject to any mandatory laws that cannot be excluded or overridden by contract.

If a provision of this License is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect to the maximum extent permitted by law.

22. Entire Agreement

This License constitutes the terms governing the rights granted to you regarding the Light Kali Software, except where a separate written agreement expressly provides otherwise.

23. Contact and Permissions

Requests for permissions not granted by this License, including permission to modify or redistribute the Light Kali Core, should be directed to the official Light Kali project maintainers.

Written permission from the Copyright Holder may grant additional rights beyond those provided by this License.
